Boy, have come a long way from when first cell phones had to be carried in a bag because it was so big and bulky. The CARD Mobile Phone is 0.58mm thin, which is less than a quarter inch and weighs about 1.3 ounces.

The CARD Mobile Phone comes with embedded voice recognition software that eliminates the need for a traditional full keypad. This gives the credit card size handset a large flat surface for brand identification, logos and personalized images. The phone’s software can be trained for the user’s voice and used in any language.

Real Phone Announces Super Thin, Low Cost, Voice Activated Mobile Phone

SAN DIEGO, CA, March 31, 2009

Real Phone Card Corporation, a San Diego company, announces the product launch of the CARD Mobile Phone, the world’s thinnest and lightest mobile phone, designed for prominent branding and personalization.

The CARD Mobile Phone brings a set of unique features never before found in a low cost device. Embedded voice recognition software eliminates the need for a traditional full keypad. This gives the credit card size handset a large flat surface for brand identification, logos and personalized images. The phone’s software can be trained for the user’s voice and used in any language.

Many luxury product companies have branded mobile phones to suit the high fashion expectations of their customers. Now with the CARD Mobile Phone consumer companies can extend their brand, promote their products, and create exciting marketing incentives by putting their name and logo on a mobile phone. “The CARD Mobile Phone creates a new category” remarks Chief Executive Office, Owens Alexander, “the combination of form factor, unique operation, and value makes it perfect for corporate marketing initiatives and many specialized applications”. The CARD is a great phone for preteens or elderly users who want basic, simple to use features in a mobile phone. Its light weight at 1.3 ounces, durability, and water resistance will make it attractive as a second phone for outdoor recreational activities, or to be used in emergencies. For those just looking for an entry level phone, the Card’s unique features will be appealing when contrasted with the typical candy bar styles of other manufacturers.

“Creating a credit card size phone at less than 1/4 ” thick, with these features took quite a bit of creative design”, explained Founder and Chief Technical Officer Bob Czajkowski, “ and this is the first time voice recognition software has ever been put in a single chip entry level handset.” Calls from the CARD Mobile Phone can be made four ways: speaking the name associated with a number recorded in the Phonebook is fast and simple; speaking the individual digits; using the call register which contains the most recent 30 calls; or novel software driven virtual keypad can be used to make calls or send numeric text messages.

The CARD Mobile Phone will be displayed in the Emerging Technology Showcase at CTIA in Las Vegas March 31 – April 3. Real Phone expects the CARD Mobile Phone to be in production this summer. Distribution channel arrangements are still being developed and have not been announced.
