cell phone digest | April 6, 2009 8:25 PM
| Check out this cell phone that’s the size of a credit card. It’s called the CARD Mobile Phone and is developed by Real Phone Corporation. It can fit in your wallet like a typical credit card and is the world’s thinnest and lightest mobile phone, designed for prominent branding and personalization.
Boy, have come a long way from when first cell phones had to be carried in a bag because it was so big and bulky. The CARD Mobile Phone is 0.58mm thin, which is less than a quarter inch and weighs about 1.3 ounces. The CARD Mobile Phone comes with embedded voice recognition software that eliminates the need for a traditional full keypad. This gives the credit card size handset a large flat surface for brand identification, logos and personalized images. The phone’s software can be trained for the user’s voice and used in any language. With the CARD Mobile Phone consumer companies can extend their brand, promote their products, and create exciting marketing incentives by putting their name and logo on a mobile phone. |
The CARD Mobile Phone was displayed in the Emerging Technology Showcase at CTIA in Las Vegas March 31 – April 3. Real Phone expects the CARD Mobile Phone to be in production this summer and maybe first introduced in India and possibly the United States.
